Rules & Regulations for Photography Outreach Program

The following constitute the Rules & Regulations of the Photography Outreach Program and must be strictly adhered to by every Entrant.  By submitting an Entry for this Program, an Entrant is taken to have read each of these Rules & Regulations and to have agreed to every term herein contained.  The Organiser reserves the rights to make any changes to any of these Rules & Regulations without notice at any time.

1. General requirements

1.1           Every photographic entry (“Entry”) entered by an Entrant into this Program must:

(a)            depict an aspect of Singapore life;
(b)           be the sole work of the Entrant submitting it;
(c)            be submitted by an Entrant who is a full-time student aged between 13 to 19 at the time of submission of the Entry;
(d)           be photorealistic.

1.2           Each Entrant may submit no more than Five (5) images for the Program.

1.3           For each physical entry, it must be accompanied by an information card on the back, which shall include the following information:

(a)            the Entrant’s name, home mailing address and telephone number;
(b)           the Entrant’s email address;
(c)            the Entrant’s school address;
(d)           his/her school’s phone number;
(e)            details of what the Entry is about, and the time and the specific location the Entry was taken.

1.4           Any Entry which does not comply with any term of these Rules & Regulations will not be considered.           

1.5           All decisions of the panel shall be final and binding.

 

2.             Technical requirements

2.1           Each Physical Entry must either be:

(a)            a good photographic print/ inkjet print to fit on an 8” x 10” sized paper (digital files should be enclosed with the entry); or
(b)           a digital file submitted on the Photo Out Reach website. Original file resolution should not be smaller than 2056 x 3072 pixel (6 Megapixel).
 

2.2           Minimal manipulation of digital images with the intention of accurately rendering the message of the Entry is acceptable.  However no digital

manipulation of an image such that it is rendered not photorealistic is allowed.

2.3           No text that does not constitute a part of the original Entry should appear on the final image (for example, names, dates, or inspirational messages are not allowed)

 

3.             Bonus

3.1           The judges shall choose Ten (10) Entrants to attend a bonus photography workshop.

3.2           All accepted Entries will be shown at a final exhibition.  

3.3           Entrants that have been selected under Clause 3.1, above, shall also be entitled to exhibit additional images at the said final exhibition.

3.4           No Entry shall be returned to Entrants after the exhibition. The Organiser shall retain or dispose of these at its sole and entire discretion.

 

4.             Rights and Indemnity

4.1           The Organiser, its agents, officers, staff and employees shall not be responsible if any Entry is lost or damaged, or for any reason not included in the program.

4.2           Every Entrant will own and retain all rights to the images contained in his/her Entry except for these following rights which are hereby granted to the Organiser:

(a)            a non-exclusive right to use the images in and through any media for marketing and promoting the Organiser, the Competition or subsequent runs of the Competition for a maximum period of Three (3) years; and 
(b)           a non-exclusive right to generally use these images in and through any media for commercial or non-commercial purposes for a period of One and a Half (1½) years from 1st August 2007.
(c)            a non-exclusive right to use the images in and through any media for any research, scientific or academic purposes.
