Circa in Latin means "about" or "around", in space and as well as in time, where it helps to serve as a basis for understanding the various moments in the grand history of Life.
And circa2007, is a Photo-Outreach Program, organised by LightEditions supported by the School of Art, Design and Media at Nanyang Technological University, National Arts Council and Singapore Photographic Trade Association.
As its name suggests, this program aims to reach out and around Singaporeans, with Photography, capturing their thereabouts in moments. circa2007 hopes to engage participants into looking around more actively and think about our everyday lives, to see beyond the ordinary.
It is also encouraging for circa2007 to receive extensive support from the various Photo Labs in the market, providing the young participants subsidies for their prints.
circa2007 is thus excited to invite every Singaporean Youth, from ages 13 - 19, and share his or her life in Singapore, through their own eyes translated into Photography and then, in the light of the future years, reminisce circa 2007.
